Hongi for banks

Your fraud team can’t beat a spoofed number. A verified call can.

Every “safe account” scam starts with a call that looks like yours. Hongi makes “this is your bank calling” something you can prove.

The scam wears your name

The most damaging phone fraud in banking does not attack your systems. It attacks your voice. A criminal calls a customer as “the fraud department”, quotes a few facts from a phishing kit, and walks them to a “safe account” while staying on the line. Your authentication was never touched; your name did all the work.

The bank pays three times. Once in disputes and goodwill refunds. Again in call-center load, because every fraud wave sends worried customers to your queues. And a third, slower time: customers learn to distrust every outbound call, so your genuine collections, KYC and fraud-alert calls stop being answered.

Awareness campaigns are necessary, but they teach distrust, not verification. The customer still has no way to check the one call that matters.

Three flows, honestly labelled

Customer protection Live today

Customers verify a trusted person before they act

The free app works today: before moving money under pressure, your customer verifies a paired family member and gets a calm second opinion. Every deflected case is a dispute you never open.

Directory listing Pilot — onboarding now

A verified entry in the trust directory

Apply, prove control of your domain, pass an editorial review. Your signed entry ships in every Hongi app, and customers pair with the real you — not with whoever claims to be you.

Agent verification & caller-ID In development

“Your bank is calling — tap to verify”

An offline caller-ID layer plus live agent-to-customer verification during the call. How this meets your PSD2 and DORA duties is exactly what we co-design with pilot banks.

What your customers experience

No security training, no judgment calls. A customer sees your name on an incoming call and one button. If verification succeeds, they can relax; if there is nothing to verify, they hang up. That is the habit your “we will never ask you” campaigns have been trying to teach — finally attached to something a customer can actually do.
